Restaurant in Las Galletas, Tenerife

There are restaurants with a sea view and there are restaurants with a view of the sea - not so much a sea view as a balancing act. While all the cafes at the new marina in Las Galletas can be said to have a sea view, none have quite the same view of the sea as the Cafe del Puerto. Literally hanging off the pier on stilts, you feel part of the harbour itself. Not surprisingly, Cafe del Puerto specialises in seafood. A lot of it. There are family platters which offer a combination of different fish and seafood which make a good value and tasty choice. For a table of ten our food bill came to just over €170. At €17 per head that was reasonable especially as we had really pushed out the boat (sorry!) and ordered quite a bit more than we really should have done. Under normal circumstances a family of four need probably pay no more than a €16 family platter and a couple of side dishes for a total food bill of €25 or so. |
